IF YOU GIVE THEM MONEY FOR BREAD AND THEY COME BACK WITH CHEWING GUM, COLLECT IT FROM THEM!
Everything in life matters a lot, therefore you must not take anything for granted, especially when trying to bring your children up in humanitarian and Godly ways.
If your child request for money to buy biscuits or bread (for example), and you see him/her come back with chewing gum, collect it from him/her. It is the principle of ensuring that every proposed project is executed when the fund is disbursed without diversion.
When you give them money to contribute in the church, make sure they do not divert it to buy ice cream in the school. Teach them to understand that every project has its subhead, and that it is unethical to divert the money for a proposed project meant for constituency A to execute project in constituency B.
When you make a list for them to buy some stuff, don’t fail to confirm when they return if the quantities bought correspond with the amount you gave. Else they may inculcate the habit of compromising the standard of approved projects in other to make some gains. That is how substandard projects are everywhere in our states.
When your children come to collect some money for their claimed misplaced books and pens, ensure they are not hiding those writing materials just to loot your funds. Else they will grow and become those politicians that would be approving funds ten times for the same project without execution.
See every child as a potential President, Governor, Chairman, Councillor, Senator, Reps. member and Assembly member. See them as King and Queen of a Kingdom that is desperate for peace, and then train them as those preparing to become leaders in that Kingdom of peace. The way you train them today, determines how the tomorrow’s society would be.
